Craniomaxillofacial surgeon subspecialized in facial rejuvenation surgery
About Dr. Maarten Van Genechten
Meet Dr. Maarten Van Genechten
Dr. Maarten Van Genechten is a surgeon with a deep commitment to facial and neck rejuvenation. As a craniomaxillofacial surgeon, subspecializing in facial rejuvenation surgery, he owns the Catershoek Surgical Center. Here, in a serene and professional environment, he performs his work with a passion for perfection.
He also has the opportunity to perform the same procedures at AZ Klina Brasschaat and AZ Monica Antwerp as a senior staff member of the ZMACK association. For Dr. Van Genechten, it's not just about technique; it's about understanding the deeper, personal values of each patient and creating a result that fulfills them both aesthetically and emotionally.
Training
Dr. Van Genechten's path to expertise in facial surgery is unique. He began his medical training at the University of Antwerp, where he specialized in craniomaxillofacial surgery.
His quest for absolute expertise in aesthetic facial surgery then led him to international fellowships and training, where he refined his expertise under the guidance of some of the best surgeons in the world. With additional certified fellowships and training in Brisbane, Sydney, the U.S. and the UK, he has accumulated a total of 17 years of specialized training.
His great passion for facelifts and other facial rejuvenation procedures stems from his deep knowledge of and fascination with the anatomy of the face and determination to achieve natural results. Rejuvenating a face without changing it. He attends conferences on an annual basis and visits close friends and colleagues working within the same niche specialty of aesthetic facial surgery.
"I treat every patient as if they were my own family. I give my patients three guarantees: I don’t sell, I am honest, and I give my very best. Patients receive my absolute dedication and precision. The best version of myself for the best version of yourself."
Practice
Dr. Maarten Van Genechten specializes in aesthetic facial surgery and is known for his natural results in facial rejuvenation. He is an expert in the 'Deep Plane Facelift' technique and belongs to a limited group of surgeons worldwide who apply and master this technique in its purest capacity. Each result is individually tailored to the patient's wishes. Every year, he treats hundreds of patients with facial procedures, and his goal always remains the same: to achieve a result that is both aesthetically impactful and authentic.
Dr. Van Genechten understands that undergoing a facelift is a personal decision that is often accompanied by questions and concerns. Therefore, he values an open and honest consultation, in which he discusses with the patient what the procedure entails and what the best approach is for her or his specific situation.
As a senior staff member at ZMACK, the largest group of craniomaxillofacial surgeons in Europe, he works closely with colleagues and treats patients requiring complex care. He is also active in training future surgeons and fellows, passing on his knowledge and expertise to the next generation of medical professionals.
Personal life
In daily life, Dr. Van Genechten is a devoted father, husband and an avid sportsman. He lives with his wife, two daughters and their Dobermann in picturesque 's Gravenwezel in Antwerp.
His passions extend beyond the operating room. He is an avid sportsman and has a great passion for cycling, strength training, tennis and martial arts. He also follows Formula 1 and is a car enthusiast. What his patients appreciate most is his ability to listen and his passion for his profession. He is a surgeon who is not only a professional, but also a person who understands his patients' story.
My aesthetic philosophy
Dr. Maarten Van Genechten's aesthetic philosophy is simple but profound: to create a natural result that impactfully restores the effect of aging without changing a person's identity. He believes that creating "natural" results means more than simply performing a facelift or procedure. It means understanding the underlying facial anatomy, understanding how aging affects the face, and very specifically reversing these - and only these - influences in rejuvenating facial surgery. Thus rejuvenating the face without changing it. The best version of yourself. Not different, just younger.
Throughout his career, he has challenged himself and others to restore youth without changing the face. Like any surgeon, he has developed his own approach that combines both technique and empathy. For Dr. Van Genechten, it's all about maintaining the unique beauty of each face while respectfully correcting the signs of aging.
